Each week I will focus on something different. This week - How did What Happened in Bangkok come about?
I live in Ontario, Canada. My daughter married an American and lives in North Carolina (2 day drive south). My hubby and I were driving down to visit her and song came on the radio. We were listening to 70s on 7 on Sirius Radio. Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive played. My head remembered something a gay friend say that the song was an anthem for him.
I twisted around, grabbed my laptop and wrote 3 chapters of a book that I had no idea I was about write. Those 3 chapters turned into a trilogy - that I had no idea I was going to write.
When I got to my daughter's and reviewed what I had written - several characters didn't even have names. And I hadn't decided whether the male MC was going to be Darien or Damien.
I fleshed out those problems and sent the 3 chapters to my wonderful cp (critique partner) who immediately emailed me back - I thought you were on vacation!!!
I laughed. I may have been on vacation - but my muse wasn't. And my muse rules!
