One last look in 2017 at Daryl Devore's sweet Christmas Romance - Love in the Key of C #sweet #Christmas #romance

Pizza limply hanging her hand, Giselle glanced between me, the disappearing teenagers and the disaster of pizza boxes.
I wiped my mouth on my paper napkin and tossed it on my plate. "I've been known to be psychic. And right now, I'm guessing what you're thinking is that was something along the lines of a shark feeding frenzy."
She nodded.
"Well, it is a pretty accurate assessment. So let me explain." I settled back against the couch. "Every year, the local high schools send their gifted music students to us for a week and we turn them into an orchestra. These kids come from some of the worst high schools and home situations and for a whole seven days, they can escape that and do what they loveplay music."
"And you work with them?" She glanced around the dark backstage area. "Or do you work here?"
"I work with the kids. It's so energizing and frustrating at the same time. Teenagers." I shook my head.
"We were all teenagers once. And most of us were perfect as far as we can remember. Well behaved. Did our school work."
I tossed back my head and released a loud laugh. "Oh, hell no. I was a bad boy. Drove everybody crazy."
She sat up tall, brushed her sleeves and primly folded her hands onto her lap. "I was a perfect child. Stayed home Saturday nights and studied at the library."
I leaned closer. She pulled back. "What are you doing?"
"Checking to see if your nose grew. After a whopper of a story like that one."

Can a slice of pizza and a flute erase the ravages of life and allow Giselle and Ethan to fall in love by Christmas?

Collapsing in front the biggest department store in the city on one of the busiest days of the holiday season was not how Giselle imagined her day. Cold and hungry, she trudged through her daily existence wondering if she'd ever find happiness again.
Teenagers. Ethan loved working with them and turning their raw musical talent into something beautiful and rewarding, but that didn't fill the black void in his soul.
Like fate, the songwriters' muse nudged Giselle and Ethan together. But can Giselle overcome her fears and can Ethan get past the darkness that surrounds him, so they can find love?
