I gave him that scar. Two Truths and a Lie on this week's Book Hooks #MFRWhooks #MFRWAuthor #hotread

Book Hooks is a weekly meme hosted by Marketing for Romance Writers as part of the MFRW Authors Blog. It's a chance each week for you the reader to discover current WIP or previously published book by possibly new to you authors.

Today, I am showcasing a snippet from my hot billionaire romance – Two Truths and a Lie from the recently released Lawbreakers box set. Our heroine talks with the police while the red diamond is still in the hem of her skirt.

Eventually, the police arrived and I continued my brilliant plan of causing confusion while defending my innocence.
After the officers had checked out the room and taken preliminary statements so they understood what was what, the Detective Inspector introduced himself and asked me to have a seat. I perched on the edge of a chair, folded my hands and rested them on my lap.
"Name, please."
The inspector's sergeant held a pen and a small notebook, ready to write down everything I said.
"Keeru Tahl." Seeing an adorable look of panic on the young constable's face, I spelled it out for him. It was the least I could do.
Not that it actually was my name. But I was pretty sure my sister wouldn't mind – too much – my borrowing her name.
The detective smiled at me. "Now, in your own words tell me what happened."
Time to put on the "Me speak English goodly" persona. I inhaled a deep breath and let out a shaky exhale. "I work for Mr. Chapman. I serve drinks. A man asked me for a whiskey. I went to bar to get one."
The detective raised his hand. "Which man?"
I shrugged. "I do not know his name."
"Describe him."
"He dress like most other men at party." I pointed at Lord Middleton. "They all wear suit like that."
The detective started to speak, but I straightened up and pasted a surprised look on my face. "Oh, I know. He had a small scar. Here." I rubbed along the left side of my jaw.
Lord Middleton cleared his throat. "That would be Mark Marian. A guest. I gave him that scar." A sneer crept across his lips.

If you love hot, billionaire romances, then this is a must read.
From the author of the Two Hearts One Love Trilogy, multi-published, hot romance author Daryl Devoré's latest book revolves around deceit, betrayal, passion and the theft of a multi-million-dollar, rare, red diamond.
As if multiple planes crashes, a car accident, and a concussion isn’t enough, carefree Byn and straight-lace billionaire, Mark clash over Byn's need for independence and Mark's struggle with guilt pushing him in the opposite direction of love. When an art forger, an art thief and a ninety-year-old woman get involved the chance for true love for Byn and Mark fades.
All is lost until a children's game is their only hope.
