Just because some days everyone could use a little humour. #humor #humour

I really do suck at poetry. I am in a local writers group and there is a gentleman who is an amazing poet. What he can do with words astounds me.

But this meme is more my style of poetry.

Blurb

The legend of Robin Hood and Maid Marian with a twenty-first-century twist. If you love hot, billionaire romances, then this is a must read.

From the author of the Two Hearts One Love Trilogy, multi-published, hot romance author Daryl Devoré's latest book revolves around deceit, betrayal, passion and the theft of a multi-million-dollar, rare, red diamond.

As if multiple planes crashes, a car accident, and a concussion isn’t enough, carefree Byn and straight-laced billionaire, Mark clash over Byn's need for independence and Mark's struggle with guilt pushing him in the opposite direction of love. When an art forger, an art thief and a ninety-five-year-old woman get involved the chance for true love for Byn and Mark fades.

All is lost until a children's game is their only hope.

Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 4 Purr heat index...

I loved this twisted Fairy tale. it was enough of the original but had a very unique take. I loved that Robin Hood was a female and Robin Hood was a very likable character. Maid Marian was a mister and millionaire, so you also get a good millionaire tale as well if that is a favorite genre for you.  There is a lot of twists, seems that disaster follows Robyn and lots of humor as well.

I loved this story for beginning to end. It is very steamy, but it added to the overall romance and the humor helped. It is perfectly balanced. If you like Fairy Tales, thieves, millionaire/ billionaires, Robin Hood, humor, hot sex and romance this is for you!

My Books. My Blog. My Post. Sex on the Beach. Darien's 3 reasons why not. Daryl Devore's What Darien Desires #hot, #romance, #contemporary, #rockstar

Excerpt - Erika was chased by some men. She got away and called Darien.

Darien relaxed. His blood pressured lowered. Good girl. Good, beautiful, smart, and tough girl. She was okay. They hadn't hurt her.

He shuddered at what he would've done if she'd been harmed. Having Triad connections was a dangerous line to dance on.

Should he end the relationship? For her safety? It wasn't a win/win. Yes, she'd be safe, but he'd have lost the first woman he truly loved, and who loved him. Not because he was Darien Scott, the mega rich rock star, but because he was Darien. She'd fallen in love with him when he was in disguise as Apollo, a drag queen, and nothing changed when he revealed his identity. There was a bit of a blow-up, but she soon settled down when she understood his reason for deceiving her.

He checked his voice, assuring it sounded calm and neutral. "So, you're okay and I'm guessing back at your apartment?"

"Yes. I wish you were here."

The hiccup in her words and the wobble of her voice gripped his heart. "Gawd, babe, so do I. I'm so sorry this happened to you."

What he'd give up, if at the moment he could teleport straight into her arms. He could protect her. Keep the crazies at bay.

Her voice trembled. "I've never been so scared. I mean, I wasn't at the time. I was sort of numb and just reacting. I kept telling myself to keep it together, but when I got back here, I collapsed."

"Damn." He tilted his head back and looked at the dark sky. "I'm so hating myself that I'm not there to sing you a song and rub your back."

It worked the first time he'd done it, when she'd had a meltdown over being drugged and her apartment being trashed. She cried and he sang and slowly her sobs turned to sniffles then to soft breaths. It pained him to think those beautiful grey-blue eyes were reddened by her tears. A gorgeous woman like that should never shed tears of fear or sorrow.

"Just a sec. Gotta get a tissue."

While he waited, he returned to his seat, grabbed the can and chugged some beer.

"I'm back. Just talking to you has helped. Thanks."

"How about I send you a plane ticket? You could be here in… a day, or so. Late night flight out. Land in New York. I could meet you there and drive you here."

A soft sigh floated through his cell phone. "Sounds tempting. I haven't been away from this place for a while. Brian could look after the club."

"Want a different suggestion? Try Stewart. Brian's a good organizer and stuff, but he's kinda busy. The other queens respect Stewart, and he's got a good head on his shoulders."

"I really want to say yes."

He could hear the interest and delight in her voice. "So, say yes. Let me help you. Repeat after me. Yes, Darien, I would love a plane ticket to New York."

Erika laughed. "Yes, Darien, I would love a plane ticket, but give me a day or two to get this end organized. When I'm there, could we… make love on the beach? I've kinda always wanted to do that."

He snorted. "No. Three reasons. Sand crabs. Sand fleas, and nosy neighbours. Or so I've been told."

5 Star I loved watching these 2 fall in love.

5 Star A wonderful story of love, redemption, and having to do something terrible to create peace.

My Books. My Blog. My Post. An excerpt from Dairen's point of view from Daryl Devore's - What Darien Desires #hot, #romance, #contemporary, #rockstar

Excerpt - scene set - Erika was being chased. She got away. She calls Darien and say - Wanna hear about my day?

A cold shudder of fear rippled down Darien's spine. The time he'd used that line — So, wanna hear about my day? — he'd been covered in his own vomit, a hooker's blood, and drunk on gold infused vodka. But worst of all, he was the only person to get out alive after a Triad hit on a private club. He'd run for his life until he was rescued by his brother.

What a hell of a mess that was.

He swallowed a mouthful of beer and chuckled. Erika's day couldn't have been worse than that. One of the queens, most likely Ra-chell, probably broke a fingernail or lost a stick-on boob and was raising royal hell as only Ra-chell could.

"Okay, hit me with it. What was your day like? Wait. It's just past midnight here, so it's only noon there." He frowned. "Hang on. It's Monday there. Your day off. How bad was your morning?"

The silence in his ear hit Darien in the gut.

He expected… no, he hoped to hear her laugh and complain about a diva's hissy fit. Instead, her silence was a cold knife twisting in his gut. Mental images of her steeling her nerves to speak shot through his mind. His grip on his cell tightened. What she had to tell him had to be pretty bad. He didn't like pretty bad – it was never a good thing.

Breathe, dude. Don't go overboard. He settled back in his chair and rested his feet on the deck railing. Listen to the waves. Let them—

"Two men chased me this morning." Her voice was low.

Fear and rage exploded inside. His feet thudded onto the deck boards. "What?"

Her sad sigh sounded through the phone. "I went for a run. I woke up early, all energized, so I went for a run. My normal route. But it started to rain. Really hard. I decided to take a short cut, and this guy…"

Darien gripped his cell. He didn't want to hear the rest. Why the hell had he left her in Bangkok? He ground his teeth together. Because he thought she'd be safer there. If no one knew they were dating, she wouldn't become a target for one of the crazies that like to follow celebrities. There, in Thailand, she was just Erika, not Darien Scott's love interest.

How fast could he get to Bangkok? He banged his beer on the table. Damn. Why didn't he live in New York or LA? No airport in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. He glared at the sliver of moonlight reflecting off the ocean waves.

"This guy grabbed me, but I reacted and got away."

Darien started to speak but caught himself. She needed to talk, so he needed to listen.

"Then there was this other one. I ran into him. He was the size of a wall. I fought, but he had me tight. I knee'd him in the balls."

"Way to go, girl!" He raised his fist in the air. "Oops. Sorry. Then what?"

"I ran to Janet's coffee shop and hid there."

Nerves on edge, Darien stood and paced his deck. What next? What next? rattled through his head. He sent her a telepathic message to hurry to the end of her story. He needed to know.
