The Evolution of a Book Cover part 1- WTF! #bookcover #romance

A while back, I got back my rights from my first 5 book and I have been slowly re-publishing them  Each with a new title and a new cover, plus editing changes or new scenes added. Now that those 5 books (Two O'clock with a Billionaire, Dark Chocolate and Strawberries, Branwyn's Love, Love My Fate and Desires) are completed and re-uploaded (**Note about uploading below) - I have one more book to work on.

Next, a couple of years ago, I was asked to join a box set with some writer friends. The theme of the story had to revolve around "a thief" and it had to be a romance.
Two Truths and a Lie was my contribution. The box set has been taken down and broken apart and now it is this book's chance to be reborn.
But first I need a cover. Which brings me to today's blog post. The Evolution of a Cover - part 1.

I am not an artist - so I can't paint a picture for my cover, so off I go to photo sites - Deposit Photo, Pexels and Pixabay to name a few. Some offer photos for free. Others must be purchased.

In the search engine, I typed different subjects to see what pops up. This time I had typed in romance and this was one of the suggested photos....

Luckily it was from a free site, so I didn't have to pay to use it here. I am still trying to figure out how this is "romantic". But the way my head works, I'm sure that some day in the not too distant future I'll be writing a romance on a container ship!
