This week's excerpt is from my medieval fantasy romance – A Voice in the Air

Scene Set –This is my last week for a while. I am taking a break from blogging and just enjoying summer. Everyone stay healthy and I'll be back in Sept with a new release.

Excerpt –

When he felt he was far enough inside and safe, Ewen slept.

When he woke, he searched the cave. His hands pretending to be his eyes, feeling what he could not see. Dry. Hard. Rock. Dirt. Bone.

Bone. His heart thudded in his chest. Fear flowed through him. A bone meant death. Something or someone had died. He didn’t want to die. Not here. In the dark. Alone.

A wee bit more

Fuelled by terror, he’d heaved the vile thing, only to have it bounce off an unseen wall and smack him in the head. Running his fingers over it, he decided to keep it. It was long. Hard. And possibly could be a weapon. Not as splendid as a knight’s blade, but it was all he had.

“Uh.”

The moan was soft, but he heard it. And he recognized it. Someone made that sound. A man. Not a troll.
