This week's 8-10 sentences are from my medieval fantasy romance – The Last Dragon
Scene set – Derry was relaxing under a tree after healing the ancient, who has returned to their cottage. Meliboeus Rith, the richest man in town, has desires on Derry. She speaks first.
“'Tis wrong for ye to say or do such things. We are not man and wife.” She brushed dirt from her hands and smoothed her hair back from her face.
He puffed his chest outward. “I have offered.”
Bile rose in the back of Derry's throat. She swallowed it down and stepped back. “Ye are already married. And with daughters.” Her brow furrowed as her lip curled. “I do not desire to wed ye.”
A wee bit more.
“But I desire to bed ye. Wedded or not.”
