This week's 8-10 sentences is from my hot romance - Desires

Sorry about last week - my bad. Totally forgot to post.

Scene set - Fuschia has collapsed on the floor. The dance moms are not happy with Peyton. He is rattled being out of his comfort zone.

NOTE - tiny bit of foul language. He is upset and overwhelmed.

Peyton focused on the mother who was still venting her anger. "She won’t move. She won't leave us. She's an angel. You killed an angel."

Fighting the desire to yell, he kept his tone level as he snapped out, "Can we focus on one issue at a time? Ms. Quinn laying here. I didn’t kill her. Look, she still has a pulse. Where the hell is the E.M.S.?"

Teeny bit more

"Language." She resembled an angry mother lion. "Little ones."

Fuck the little ones. If that damn ambulance doesn't get here soon and get Flame… Fuchsia out of here and me away from this mess, there just might be a murder. He glared at the Sumo wrestler look alike. And I'll start with you.

When secrets conflict with dreams, love explodes. Desires is Daryl Devoré’s hot romance.

After a mistake by a surgeon’s scalpel shattered Fuchsia Quinn's dance career, she picked up the pieces of her life and moved forward. As the owner of a small, struggling dance school in a depressed neighborhood she supplements her income with a late-night job at a strip club. Haunted by the fear of humiliation, if her secret is revealed, her life was under control until the night he walked into the club.

Peyton Lang, having run from an impoverished neighbourhood, lives the lifestyle of a successful billionaire. Frustrated that his current multi-million dollar project is stalled, Peyton drops in to LEATHER-ICIOUS for a quick drink and late night entertainment. What he saw was a beautiful redhead. What he found was he wanted her.

After a lusty night with a hot pole dancer, Peyton and Fuchsia's worlds are about to collide.

  1. I think he underestimates those mothers. He should definitely be afraid. Nice snippet!

  2. I guess he's reached his limit--but so have the moms. What a show down! (I'll lay my money on the moms.) Great snippet!

  4. Hmmm, curious to see who would come out the winner here. Hopefully, after all the bristling, it'll be Fuchsia!

  5. I know this scene is kind of serious, but I couldn't stop myself from laughing when I read it! His thoughts are a jumble of panic and funny. Those moms are scaring the pants off of him. lol

    1. No actually I wrote the scene with a smile - it's the humour of the dance moms vs Peyton. You read it correctly.

  6. It's interesting to speculate how much of his near-panic stems from the way he's being treated in such an unusual situation and how much of it is the fact that it's Fuschia/Flame lying there.

  7. I'm with Teresa. Serious, but a little humorous. He is getting on edge with the moms.

  9. Being a foul-mouthed cuss myself, I find myself bemused by people who get in a dither about mild profanity like "hell." Particularly in a situation where someone is lying unconscious on the floor.
