From What Happens in Bangkok - so Darien is about to be rescued by his brother - it's time to switch back to Erika.
She just broke up a fight between 2 of her performers and has slipped into her office for a moment to recharge.
(And I don't know why this is printing so large - I can't make it revert to "normal")

She headed to her office, shutting the thick door and taking a moment to wallow in the silence her acoustically insulated office gave her. After plopping onto her desk chair, she pulled open her bottom left drawer and pulled out her prize possession – a bottle of twenty-year old Glenfiddich whiskey. A gift from her father when she assumed control of the club.
His words of advice? Drink it wisely.
She stroked her hand down the front of the bottle, the glass cool against her fingertips. Being the owner/manager of a drag queen club had its share of up moments, but it sorely crushed her potential for a love life. She practically lived at the club, and most of the patrons who visited were gay, which didn't leave much of a dating pool for her to select from. For the first three or four months, she reveled in the solitude. However a girl gets itches, which need to be scratched.

Blurb

To save Darien's life his brother asks, "Can you walk in high heels?"
Erika Bailey, owner/manager of a drag queen club in Bangkok, Thailand has happily settled into all aspects of her new life, except for her lack of a love life. When a new diva auditions, Erika is bewildered over her instant attraction to the blond God, Apollo.
Darien Scott is on vacation after a world tour and mistakenly figures the safest place to be is at The Black Dragon with the head of a Triad. When the club is hit, Darien is the only person to get out alive. Now   he's running from the police and a Triad. Mistake number 1.
Disguised as a drag queen, he's hired by Erika, but falls hard for his new boss, then struggles with not coming clean with her. Mistake number 2.
Can he fix his mistakes and find a life filled with love or is he headed straight for mistake number 3?

  1. Guys get itches too -- as I can thoroughly attest, considering that I'm suffering through a bad reaction to a medication. I just hope she doesn't do anything rash.

  2. Interesting though her lifestyle is, I can definitely see the drawbacks when it comes to dating!

  5. She needs to take a day off and go out for a back scratcher to take care of the itches! This was a great read, Daryl!

  7. I'm sure she'll find someone to scratch. Good advice, by the way. ;)

  8. All work and no play...as they say. She is definitely not in the right place to find a "back scratcher" to her taste. Great snippet.

  9. Well, that's a workplace issue not many people have to deal with. At least I suspect things are going to look up for her dating prospects!

  10. My eyes thank you for the large print. LOL Yep, she'd better get out of her office if she wants that itch scratched.
